Light phenomena are also at the centre of several series of coloured pencil drawings created between 2003 and 2010 after photographs taken by the artist or others [...]. The spectacles of light depicted date back to catastrophes such as the nineteen-part series "Landscape" (2003) and the twelve-part series "Fireworks and Air Defence" created in 2004-05, which are drawn after photographs of New Year's Eve fireworks and after war photographs from Kosovo and Iraq. The latter show alternately and in medium format light and colour effects of peaceful pyrotechnics and of acts of war, which can hardly be distinguished from each other.
