Culture creates space for reflection in order to be able to view the world in a differentiated way. It enriches our lives and should provide the opportunity for discussion. Baloise has been collecting art for many decades. It does not do so primarily to increase value, but to make a significant contribution to corporate and social culture: Baloise presents the approximately 1,700 works in its Corporate Collection not only in all offices, meeting rooms, and corridors in all buildings, but also in the new Group headquarters in exhibition areas in the core of the building and on the first floor in its Art Forum, which is open to the public on weekdays.
Participation and the corresponding communication of art are just as much a part of the corporate culture as is the promotion of young and emerging talent - through purchases for the company's own collection and with the Baloise Art Prize.
This promotional idea now also characterizes the exhibitions at the Baloise Park Art Forum. Baloise makes the premises available to young curators so that they can share their freshly acquired knowledge with a broader public for 6 months at a time. They are supported by the experienced art consultant Frédérique Hutter. She succeeds Martin Schwander, who is handing over his advisory work to the next generation after more than 35 years.
In addition to the support of an experienced exhibition organizer and the given exhibition theme, the young curators will have the comprehensive structure at their disposal: the fund of a collection of 1,700 works, from which at least one work is to be shown in the exhibition, professional art handling, documentation, advertising, mediation, and the corresponding communication, which will be part of the overall commitment.
This new promotion of talent will begin at Art Basel 2022 with an exhibition by Julia Hegi and Antonia Truninger. On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, 18:00 - 22:00, Baloise invites you to the Opening Reception at the exhibition of the two young curators in the Baloise Park Art Forum, Aeschengraben 33, Basel.
